Conducting

Paul Witney is a distinguished Australian composer, musician, educator and conductor whose artistry bridges performance, pedagogy and community engagement. Internationally recognised for his compositions, Witney has also made a significant impact as a choral and ensemble conductor. During his tenure as Director of Music at Our Lady of Mercy College Parramatta, he directed the school’s vibrant music program—leading choirs, orchestral ensembles and musical productions, and shaping the musical growth of young performers. Under his baton, college ensembles premiered important works such as Matthew Orlovich’s Sweet Mercy! at Parramatta Riverside Theatres in 2014, honouring the 125th anniversary of the school’s foundation. Witney’s conducting reflects his deep commitment to artistic excellence, education and community, cultivating expressive, confident musicians and enriching lives through shared musical experience. More recently Paul has been assisting in workshops at SCAS Port Macquarie with their vibrant music department.
